Today I woke up feeling very tired and my knee was pretty sore, so I decided it was a good day to have a rest.
I spent my morning sat with a cup of tea tucking into Russian primary sources, they were really fascinating and I am looking forward to delving further into them tomorrow.
I then went for a very short recovery swim which, though slow, was very refreshing! After this I went to a careers talk about enterprise with my flat mate Eleonora, it was semi-interesting, though these things always stress me out because I still don't know what I am doing with my life after university haha!
My afternoon was spent at Triathlon club's S and C, which wasn't very hard today but definitely provided some good chit chat. I then headed to Families First (A charity I volunteer with in St Andrews). Beth (one of the other befrienders) and I spent the afternoon playing hide and seek (which we were inevitably terrible at, as unlike the kids we can no longer fit under the miniature tables), making and eating toast and playing a great game of football (don't worry, my team won). It was so nice to do something a little different and we all had a lot of fun!
I then headed back to the pool to coach the triathlon club's swim session, the top lane were definitely chatting too much ;) but the development land worked really hard and we are definitely starting to see some technique improvements, which is always fab!
I arrived home just after 7pm, the first evening of this week where I returned home before 10pm - and I definitely made the most of it! I took my pillows and duvet downstairs, set up a film, got a hot water bottle and ate a tasty chicken curry. I also read a little bit about the question of Welsh nationalism in the 1250's- definitely starting to find it a bit more interesting now. I feel so relaxed and rejuvenated and I can't wait to see what tomorrow holds!
Advice of the day: If you're feeling run down (and grumpy because of it), take a break, do something different and read a book and/or watch a film!
